Dec 27, 2004
To All,

Time for the "Holiday" edition of the Bobby Wilberg Racing newsletter.

As you may have guessed, there isn't any new results since our last newsletter, but here are a few season highlights:

MIS:
SLM - 8 fast times, 1 heat race win and 2 feature wins
ASALM - 7 fast times, 1 feature win

Jefferson:
SLM - 1 fast time (new track record 14.040)
7th place finish in the First Supply 100

Rockford:
Sportsman car (Big 8 series, National Short Track Championships) - 4th place feature finish (39 laps)
SLM (Sunoco Super Series, National Short Track Championships) - 14th place feature finish (250 laps)
ASALM (ASA Late Model national tour, National Short Track Championships) - 1st place Qualifying Feature (Saturday night) and 1st place feature, Sundays 100 lapper.

LaCrosse:
CWRA - Qualifying Feature winner (Friday night)
Wisconsin Late Model - Qualifying feature winner (Saturday night).

The season ended in LaCrosse on sort of a sour note in that the engine in the Wisconsin Late Model division car (SLM) broke a rocker arm and bent a valve in Saturday nights Qualifying feature win and we were not able to compete in the Wisconsin Late Model 50 lap feature on Sunday.

All in all, we had a pretty good year.  We finished second in the points battle in both the SLM and ASALM divisions at MIS (being one of only two cars to race both divisions the entire season).  We also posted a top 10 finish in the Valvoline Cup national competition (final results for the Valvoline Cup were not available as of this newsletter but it looks like we will finish no worse than 6th).  The 2004 SLM car was sold over the off season to Jared Ziegler who is planning on racing in both divisions at MIS in 2005 as well.  Two new chassis have already been built for our up and coming 2005 season and we are continuing to assemble them as the 2005 season will be upon us before we know it.

Some additional good news in 2005 and that is the fact that MIS will be switching back to the "Friday Night Tradition".  Hopefully it will be like old times again and perhaps another track championship will be in the making.

The entire team would like to wish each and every one a happy and safe holiday season and we hope to see you all again in 2005!

Be sure to check your inbox sometime in May for the next edition of the Bobby Wilberg Racing newsletter.
Until next time....
        Happy Motoring!
